Contacting CSDC via
E-mail
The CSDC staff believes that e-mail
is not an appropriate medium for personal counseling or for responding
to crisis situations. Responses may not be timely, because a staff
member may be out of the office or otherwise unavailable to respond. Also,
confidentiality can not be guaranteed when communicating via e-mail. Furthermore, the university administration, like many other employers, reserves
the right to monitor our e-mailusage and might therefore see the text of messages.
If you have a question of a
general nature, regarding personal or academic issues, you can submit it
through our on-line Question-Answer column, Barb
Wired.
If you are an NIU student seeking counseling or assistance
with a problem, please call 753-1206 to make an appointment with one of
our counselors.
If you are experiencing a crisis, a CSDC staff member is available to assist
you from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The on-call counselor may be reached
after-hours by calling
the NIU Police at 753-1212. Please call now if you are experiencing
an emergency.
Thank you.
