Group Fitness Instructor Training Course -
Recreation Services offers an Instructor Training Course for those interested in learning to become a Group Fitness Instructor. The course includes training in basic exercise anatomy and physiology, choreography development, cueing, safety, and instructor professionalism. Step, Hi/Low Cardio, and Muscle Toning formats are emphasized with additional instruction in specialty classes such as Kickboxing, Spinning®, Yoga, and more. Training culminates in team teaching in the Recreation Services Group Fitness Program. Auditions are held prior to hiring.

Outdoor Adventure Trip Leaders - Plan and lead trips for students who are interested in participating in outdoor recreational activities. The trips include backpacking, camping, spelunking (crawling in caves), rock climbing, kayaking and more! Many participants have never tried these activities. Enthusiasm and experience in several of the various areas are a must. Applications are accepted during the fall semester. Interviewing occurs during November. Candidates that make the final cut are hired and trained in January. If interested, please stop by the Outing Centre and pick up an application. Background checks are part of the process. Clean driving record is mandatory.
Outing Centre Attendants - Rent camping and outdoor gear to the university community. Instruct individuals on the appropriate use of that equipment. Provide information concerning various outdoor areas that the university community may use for recreation purposes. Inspect and repair equipment. Additional responsibilities may include inventory, data entry, etc.
